NOTICE – PUBLIC BID

The Borough of Downingtown is soliciting bids from qualified parties for the installation and replacement of the Borough building’s air conditioning cooling tower, a Baltimore Aircoil Company (“BAC”) cooling tower, model # VFL-242-HMP, serial # R94100094, with a new BAC cooling tower, model # VFL-024-22J, or a cooling tower of equal capacity and performance. The estimated cost for this contract is greater than Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) and the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act shall apply. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope clearly marked "Cooling Tower Replacement", accompanied by a bid bond or irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, and submitted to the attention of Stephen T. Sullins, Borough Manager/Secretary no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 15, 2018, at the Borough of Downingtown Municipal Complex, 4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud on June 15, 2018 at 4:15 pm, at the same location. Proposals will be evaluated and the lowest responsible bidder will be awarded the above contract by Borough Council on June 20, 2018 at 7:00 pm, at its regularly schedule public meeting. Due to the cancellation of the June 20 Council Meeting, the bid will be awarded at the July 11 Council Meeting.

PUBLIC NOTICE     

Notice is given that the Borough of Downingtown has designated the 100 block of Jefferson Avenue as part of the Borough’s Residential Parking Permit Area. Vehicles without a parking permit shall not be parked in curbside parking spaces in the 100 block of Jefferson Avenue. The procedures to obtain residential, business, guest, special occasion, and service business parking permits are set forth in §199-5 of the Borough Code.

NOTICE

The Zoning Hearing Board of the Borough of Downingtown, Chester County, PA, will meet on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall, 4 West Lancaster Avenue to consider: Application ZHB 2018-002: Jeffrey Thomas owner of 134 W Pennsylvania Avenue (R-4 District), for Variance under [§287-33.B(6)] Minimum side yards and [§287-33.B(7)] Minimum rear yards. Applicants may request other relief that may be necessary based on the evidence presented. The Board may consider other matters as may properly come before it. All who wish may attend and be heard. If any person who wishes to attend the meeting has a disability and/or requires an auxiliary aid, service or other accommodation to observe or participate in the proceedings, please contact Stephen T. Sullins, Borough Manager, at Borough Hall, 610-269-0344, to discuss how those needs may best be accommodated.
