Log House Tours - The Historic Commission will be conducting FREE tours of the Log House on Sunday, April 8 from 1pm - 4pm. Stop in and learn all about this little gem of Downingtown history.

Readers on the Run 5k - Registration is still open for the 2018 Readers on the Run 5k on April 21. This event benefits the Downingtown Library. (more info)

RX Drug Take Back Event - The Borough will again be participating in the DEA's National RX Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, April 28 from 10am - 2pm at the Downingtown Police Station. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Take-Back Day is a national initiative, conducted in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), aimed at encouraging the public to dispose of expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs that are prone to abuse and theft.

Nite at the Races - Tickets are now available for this year's Nite at the Races, presented by The Good Neighbor Christmas Committee. The event will be held on May 19. The Chester County Fire Chiefs Association (CCFCA) has launched a new volunteer recruitment and awareness campaign to promote the importance of volunteerism and encourage residents to become a firefighter, fire police, EMT, junior firefighter or administrative volunteer. Click here for info.

The Downingtown Fire Department consists of two fire companies, the Alert Fire Company No. 1 and the Minquas Fire Company No. 2. The DFD consists of over 130 dedicated men and women volunteering their time to serve the community, risking their lives providing fire and rescue services along with Basic (BLS) and Advance (ALS) Life Support ambulance services.
